Typography in Motion

An animated typography piece using audio from an interview from Steve Jobs, using motion, type, and shape to reinforce the message.

Concept Development

Once I found this audio I was immediately inspired to create a motion design project around it. After some rough experimentation, I began laying out rough shapes in Adobe Illustrator to further establish visual hierarchy and detail.

I wanted the typography to be the main focus, with the artwork supporting the message without distracting from it.

Style-frames

Once artwork was created, it was time to explore colour in Adobe Photoshop. This is one of my favourite stages, since this is where the vision really starts coming to life.

Animation

To achieve the desired animation, I experimented with 3D shapes and cameras, and used RGB Matte Compositing and time remapping to create the light bulb movement.
